It’s Mimosa season, and Mimosa was probably the first watercolour that Charles Rennie Mackintosh painted in Roussillon near Amélie-les Bains, and our 3 centres are going to open!
- Bélesta: on the days when the Château Museum is open (afternoons except Tuesday and Saturday).
- Palalda: from 19th February (afternoons, from Wednesday to Sunday).
- The Mackintosh Centre in Port-Vendres will open its doors on the afternoon of Friday 14th February at 2.30pm (open on Wednesday and Friday afternoons).
If the association has chosen this date, Valentine’s Day, to welcome you, it is to remind you that the couple, Charles and Margaret, was not just a story of combined and complementary talents. It was also a long-standing love story.
This year, 2025, the Port-Vendres centre is presenting a mini exhibition on ‘Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh, the artist’, curated by Clara Silber. The reopening of the centre will give you the chance to discover it.
And while you are there, why not drop into our boutique too? You’ll find jewellery and heart pendants, among other items, for original Valentine’s Day gifts.
Important information:
Our association’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 13th March at 4pm, in rooms 13 and 14 of the Cultural Centre. We look forward to seeing you there!
