The Charles Rennie Mackintosh association in Roussillon held its annual general meeting, in person and by video conference (ZOOM), on March 25, 2022 in the Cultural Center of Port-Vendres, in the presence of Mme Monica Guilhouet-Gelys, Culture-deputy

President, Mme. Michèle Grau initially introduced the Board of Directors, on their behalf warmly thanking all the people who had joined and supported the association during the year 2021

She then spoke of the difficulties encountered during this year marked by periods in which waves of the epidemic had resulted in the cancellation of several events.

These included St Andrew’s Day and the Port-Vendres interpretation center being closed at the start. of year.

She also underlined the fact that the Palalda center has remained closed for works throughout this year and that these various closures have resulted in a significant reduction in revenues from the boutiques.

Despite these difficulties, she mentioned that many activities had marked the year 2021: celebration of Mackintosh’s birthday; the forum of associations; heritage days; establishment of collaborative relationships with Micro-Folie and with the Media Library, seeing the creation of spaces dedicated to Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the joint organization of a celebration day on July 13.

After the activity report, the 2021 accounts results were approved by unanimous vote and the 2022 activity forecast was detailed.

We discussed the bases of a partnership with the community of Communes of La Llagonne and the University of Perpignan and the collaboration with two volunteers who manage one our Facebook page and the other our Instagram account.

The year 2022 will also see the reopening of the Palalda center in renovated premises and the installation of the new Port-Vendres centre in new premises in Place Castellane, near the Cultural Center.

Finally, the association intends, if the sanitary conditions allow it, to expand its cultural program with visits and conferences.

To be noted for now, a guided visit to Perpignan Art-Déco  sites by a doctor in Art History, on July 7 at 3 p.m. This visit is free for all our members.

There was great pleasure also in welcoming Isabelle CASES Teacher-Researcher and Lecturer in English at the University of Perpignan to the Board. A member of the CR Mackintosh en Roussillon association since 2020, she created and administers the association’s Facebook page.

To conclude,

Mme Monica Guilhouet-Gelys underlined the dynamism and the quality of the work carried out by the members of the board of directors whom she thanked and she reaffirmed the support of the municipality and her own for the 2022 action plan.

Participants were then able to share a snack prepared by Vice President Jane Forsyth and a glass of friendship
