Bélesta Castle is home to a Museum of Prehistory. Covering an area of around 1,000 square metres, the museum has 15 areas organised into a circuit that takes in the archaeological sciences, the Caune de Bélesta excavations, life in the Neolithic period and local discoveries (pottery, tools), and the megaliths of Roussillon.
The castle is one of three Charles Rennie Mackintosh interpretation centres in Rousillon.

The museum presents new temporary exhibitions every year.
At the start of 2024, the museum is organising an exhibition by the artist and photographer Brigitte Fort. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday 28 January 2024.

Since 2008, artist photographer and writer Brigitte Fort has devoted herself to capturing the effects of light on the surface of water in a natural environment.
Her work has given rise to numerous exhibitions, books and publications, as well as lectures at universities and conservatoires and in art classes at secondary schools.

4 previously unpublished series, comprising 32 60×90 prints on fine art canvas:
– water and stone
– creatures of water
– vegetal water
– water landscapes
