After the cultural whirlwind of the past weekend, it might be easy to forget our latest event, and yet, here it is…: a lecture in French: ‘Mackintosh, Rudolph Ihlee and Edgar Hereford’ presented by James Trollope, writer and journalist.
The work of these three artists has already been honoured in 2022 by the Musée d’Art Moderne de Collioure during the exhibition ‘Collioure: Babel des Arts’. This conference is a further opportunity to discover or rediscover their works, as well as the links that united C. R. Mackintosh, Rudolph Ihlee and Edgar Hereford. Having met the Mackintoshes in London, these British painters were instrumental in their decision to come and ‘spend long holidays’ in Roussillon. They would meet during their years in Port-Vendres.
At the end of the lecture, James Trollope will have the pleasure of signing his book: ‘Rudolph Ihlee, the road to Collioure’.
So make a note of it, if you haven’t already done so! Friday 27th September – 5.30pm – Place Castellane cultural centre – rooms 13 & 14.
