a new exhibition in palalda

For its second exhibition of textile arts, the association ‘Au fil du Tech’ is welcoming artists from Catalonia to the ‘Al Casal’ museum centre in Palalda, Amelie les Bains, from Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th October 2024.
Olga Gonzalez Angelo, an international award-winning artist, has developed the Apliquick technique for patchwork applications. A workshop will be held on Friday 4th October.
Manoli Lozano began her adventure in patchwork, and over the years she has explored different techniques, including the world of Temari, a Japanese art that involves embroidering balls of thread.
The Girona Lacemakers’ Association (Puntaires de Girona) has evolved enormously over the years, and the lacemakers have embarked on the adventure of creating modern lace. On the afternoon of Saturday 5th October, you’ll be able to see an exceptional work of lace and take part in a demonstration workshop to discover monumental lace.
Artists from the Roussillon region will also be present.
-Sandrine Torredemer, ‘La Filature’, from Perpignan, a contemporary embroiderer who creates landscape paintings.
-Pat Romero, painter and embroiderer.
And the works of textile art enthusiasts from associations across the department will be there: patchwork, embroidery, lace, “boutis”, panels, textile books and homes.

A date not to be missed: on Friday 4th November with Katell, who will be presenting her new book ‘Sacrés Tissus’.
