St Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, the birthplace of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
St Andrew has been celebrated in Scotland for centuries. But it is only recently that his feast day, 30th November, has become an official public holiday and Scotland’s national day.
In the Christian tradition, St Andrew is the patron saint of fishermen. He is also the patron saint of couples and lovers, to whom believers turn to have children.
