Pierre Content (a member of our association) is the creator of the large statue of the “Traveller”, currently transferred to the Cours du Fer à Cheval.
It recollects that Port-Vendres was for a long time a gateway between France and North Africa for travellers.
This work was created in 2006 and Pierre Content is recognized as the sculptor of Port-Vendres.
As part of the “Walk in the land of the artists” (“Balade en terre d’Artistes”) organized by the department, Pierre is opening his studio in Port-Vendres.
Pierre states
” Good morning,
I am pleased to invite you, as part of “Walk in the land of the artists” to come to my studio.
I present sculptures in bronze, resin, stone and wood that I have made since the 2000s.
It will be a pleasant moment of convivial exchange”.

The open houses of “Walk in the Land of Artists”, organized by the department will be held on May 14th and 15th, 2022.
“As every year, the Department brings together artists from the Catalan Country and art lovers, whether they are passionate or simply open to discovery, for a weekend of encounters and sharing.
Painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramists, potters, mosaicists…
They invite all the inhabitants to come and discover their works, to come and exchange and enrich themselves, on May 14th and 15th, everywhere in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
Also to take part in workshops, the artists welcome you to their homes and introduce you to their passion
