The Association Charles Rennie Mackintosh en Roussillon owns a portrait of our great architect, designer and watercolourist, who lived here in Port-Vendres from 1925-1927
This large oil painting created by Robert Carpinelli (an artist from Argeles who died in 2011) https://artactif.com/fr//artist/carpinelli and given to the association in 1995.
The canvas was damaged by a tarnished hook, requiring restoration. An investment of 450 euros was approved by the administrative counsel (AC) to save it.
They decided to give the work to Laure Maltese, a talented art restorer in Elne (4 rue du Couvent, parking St Jordi, near the Tourist office).

The original frame has also been given a new life thanks to our friend Jacques Raupp, a member of the CA and our artistic adviser
As we announced in an article from our Blog dated 26th January 2021, a space dedicated to C R Mackintosh has been installed in the Micro-Folies area in the Dome.
The painting has recovered all its early beauty and has been put into an excellent position at the heart of this area.
We recall that this area is organised by Miss Antoinette Raupp contact 09 75 63 16 78
Sadly, the Dome is currently closed due to the new sanitary directives.
